Trump uploads AI footage of Obama getting detained
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump has shared an AI-generated video showing former President Barack Obama being arrested and imprisoned. The video comes in the wake of renewed accusations that Obama and his top officials deliberately fabricated the Trump-Russia collusion narrative.
Last week, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard declassified over 100 pages of documents, which she claims provide “overwhelming evidence” that members of the Obama administration manipulated intelligence to justify launching the Russiagate probe. Gabbard alleged that the goal was to undermine Trump’s 2016 victory. The documents reportedly implicate former CIA Director John Brennan, former DNI James Clapper, and Obama himself.
On Sunday, Trump posted the video on his Truth Social platform. It begins with real clips of Obama and other Democrats declaring, “No one is above the law.” The footage then shifts to AI-generated scenes depicting FBI agents arresting Obama in the Oval Office as Trump looks on and laughs. The video concludes with an animated Obama pacing in a jail cell. Trump also posted fabricated mugshots of Obama and his former cabinet members under the caption “The Shady Bunch.”
Trump publicly supported Gabbard’s call for an investigation into Obama, praising her team’s efforts as “fantastic on prosecuting Obama and the ‘thugs’ just exposed for the highest level of election fraud.” According to Gabbard, intelligence assessments from 2016 consistently found that Russia lacked both the means and intent to influence the US election. However, she claims these findings were buried when Obama ordered a new assessment blaming Russia for helping Trump defeat Hillary Clinton — an assessment allegedly based on discredited sources like the Steele Dossier.
“This wasn’t intelligence gathering; it was narrative creation,” Gabbard said, accusing Obama’s officials of leaking false claims to the media and politicizing classified intelligence. She asserted that all involved must be fully investigated and prosecuted.
Russia has repeatedly denied interfering in the 2016 election, with the Kremlin labeling Russiagate a politically driven hoax designed to justify sanctions and sour relations with Moscow.
