Spot market electricity prices set to reach 3.400 Turkish liras
The lowest price for the day will be 3,250 liras, scheduled for 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), the figures showed.
Data from Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) revealed that the total trade volume in Monday’s electricity market declined by 1.11% compared to Sunday, falling to approximately 2.41 billion liras.
The average prices on the day-ahead spot market were recorded at 3,393.75 liras (arithmetic) and 3,392.85 liras (weighted).
For comparison, Monday’s highest electricity rate also peaked at 3,400 liras per megawatt-hour during the intervals from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. local time (0500–0800 and 1000–2200 GMT). The lowest rate on Monday was 3,250 liras at 5 a.m. (0200 GMT).
As of 2:15 p.m. local time (1115 GMT) on Monday, the exchange rate stood at 40.54 Turkish liras to the U.S. dollar.
