India Detains Key Suspect in Deadly Delhi Blast
India's National Investigation Agency revealed it had apprehiated Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Kashmir, for his alleged role in orchestrating the attack that resulted in 10 fatalities and left 32 people wounded, according to a statement posted on X, the US social media platform.
The vehicle carrying the "Improvised Explosive Device (IED)" that detonated Monday in New Delhi was "registered" in Ali's name, investigators disclosed.
Officials identified Umar Un Nabi, also from Kashmir, as the individual who executed the bombing.
The explosion ripped through an area near the Red Fort, the iconic monument dating back to the Mughal empire, during Monday's attack.
India's government has classified the incident as a "terrorist incident" perpetrated by "anti-national forces."
Investigators have also confiscated a second vehicle owned by Nabi as the inquiry advances, the agency stated.
Indian media had previously reported the casualty count from the bombing had climbed to 13 deaths.
