Turkey Criticizes Netanyahu Over Remarks Targeting President Erdogan
The criticism came in response to statements attributed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which sparked a sharp reaction from Turkish officials who argued that he is in no position to lecture others given the ongoing war-related allegations surrounding his government.
A senior Turkish communications official, Burhanettin Duran, issued a forceful statement rejecting Netanyahu’s remarks and accusing him of responsibility for widespread violence in the region.
He said:
"Everyone knows that he (Netanyahu) has no moral values and legitimacy to lecture anyone."
He further accused the Israeli leader of presiding over major regional military actions and claimed that such behavior has contributed to instability across multiple countries.
"Netanyahu who has orchestrated a genocide in Gaza and attacked seven countries in the region dares targeting our President out of desperation," said Türkiye's Communications Director Burhanettin Duran on US-based social media platform X.
Duran also portrayed Netanyahu as politically isolated and facing serious legal challenges, arguing that his policies are exacerbating conflict in the region in order to maintain his position.
He added:
"He is a criminal with arrest warrants to his name with no friends left," Duran underscored that his policies are pulling the region into instability and conflict as a means of staying in power.
"He will be held accountable sooner or later for his crimes against humanity," Duran added.
He also reaffirmed Ankara’s broader stance, emphasizing what he described as a long-term commitment to opposing oppression and supporting a more stable and just international order.
